Numbers Tic Tac Know

Looking for something quick, easy, and fun to do with early finishers or in a math station?  My kinderfriends love playing tic tac know!  They claim their space by identifying the number, number word, or representation in the space.  The first person to get three in a row is the winner!  Grab your copy here.
{PS...Check out the super fun Holly Bloggy Christmas gift exchange I'm hosting over at my blog!  Hope you'll join in the fun if you haven't already.  We're cooking up some fabulous giveaways for participants!}

Free Monster Match

Who doesn't love monsters during Halloween time!  So here's a free Monster Memory matching game 0-10.  Have students cut and place face down.  Turn over two cards and count to see if they match.

You can also send it home as practice for your families!

Number Formation!

How do you teach kids to write numbers?

Here are the poems I use to correctly form the numbers!

1 - Straight line down, and then we are done. That's the way to make the one!
2 - Round the track and back, two, two, two!
3 - Around a tree, around a tree, that's the way to make a three!
4 - Down and over and down some more, that's the way we make a four!
5 - The bee goes down, around the hive, go back up to make a five!
6 - Make a C then in you go, now you've made a six you know!
7 - Across the sky, then slant the line, makes a seven every time!
8 - Make an S and do not wait, go back up to make an 8!
9 - First a circle, then a line, that's the way to make a 9!
0 - Round and round just like a O.  Look, now you've made a 0!

I also use an interactive independent practice sheet to reinforce this.  Here is a sample where the students glue the tree's into the three and then practice writing the number with the poem!  I have made these pages free for the next two days, so please stop by to get them (and leave comments if you love!)

Hey Gang!

Hey guys!  So excited to be part of the Kindergarten Gang!  I love all of the great ideas shared on all of your amazing blogs.

Thought I would take a minute to introduce myself--I'm Caitlin from Ms. Preppy's Adventures in Primary and Polka Dots.  I teach primary math (K, 1, and 2), so pretty much everything on my blog is math related.  I love me some numbers...  I just got a marvelous makeover from Mckenna at Project 3 Designs, the Teamies recommended her and she was just as wonderful as they claimed!

The beginning of the year in kindergarten math is filled with numeral writing fun!  I recently created a magnet of sorts to send home for parents to keep so they can help their child sing our numeral song (by Dr. Jean, of course!).  Head on over to my blog to grab them for your kinderfriends.
Hope you guys have an amazing week!
